I think out of all the Asian nationalities, the Burmese would no doubt have the smallest diaspora in the West. I mean, there're over 54 million of us in the world, and only 4 here.

Oh yes, the Bhutanese...our dear Tibeto-Burman cousins from the Himalayas.
We would've shared a common culture and ancestors a few thousands years ago, but we've become too culturally, linguistically, and politically different from each other for us to be clumped together these days.

Is Burmese related to the Sino-Tibetan languages? From what I understand Burmese is grouped as Tibeto-Burman and many scholars now believe that this language family is the larger of the Sino-Tibetan tree.

Yes, I am not Burmese but I have many Burmese friends. I'll support the Burmese in this forum.
I wonder why is it there are only 3 members. Is internet surfing is strictly controlled by the Burmese
military government.
I know they are many in exile Burmese overseas and can promote this forum to them as well.

Not a problem.
To translate what I wrote:
"I'm well thanks. Where are you from? Apart from me, there're only one or two other Burmese who respond on this forum. This forum is really just a waste of time.
Do you understand the Burmese that I've just written in the Latin alphabet."
Oh great Boston!! I'm on the other side of the world in Australia. Our Burmese language just doesn't go too well in the Latin alphabet, does it? Too many consonants, too many tones. I think we need some sort of standardised Latin-based alphabet which people can use with ease as an alternative on emails, forums, messenger etc. Hehehe...I'm just being abit geeky.
