I used to live in Hawaii on Oahu. I in fact made a thread here in this forum for Hawaii posters, but I didn't seem to find any here, except for some of the Hawaii-expats who posted above me.

Well, I'm now a Hawaii-expat living on dah East Coast. I will be visiting the islands in August to visit my parents.

lol Oahu people are kind of stuck up sometimes but they all consider BI to be like the country hick part of Hawaii. Oahu is cool though. Have you been here? I want to go to BI and Maui. I haven't been to any of the other islands yet.

^well that's pretty retarded because here in the mainland most of all the Hawaii folks acting really stupid are from o'ahu. i mean they're snubby to the point that all my mainland and haole friends think that they're some sort of country bumpkins who only associate with their kind. and i'm serious.

and most of the cool people that i've met here from hawaii are actually from maui.

I think a lot of them think they are better but they aren't. It is just like anywhere else you go. There is always some group that thinks they are better. I didn't mean to say that I think that way I was just saying that is the way it is.

Hawaii rocks big time! Its got to be the coolest state in the union. Its so beautiful and you do feel like you are in asia which is unlike any other state. The weather is spectacularly beautiful and asian culture is so well represented. Its also the most unracist state i've ever experienced. Its asian heaven.

I see what you're saying. I posted the same "Anyone from Hawaii?" thread last year, and nobody except you responded to that thread. Unfortunately, you don't live in Hawaii. I was looking for somebody who lived in Hawaii (Oahu preferably) at that time.

Now there's Emp Hirohito who lives on Oahu. But now, I no longer live in Hawaii. I'm like 5000 miles away from the good ol' islands. Damn it!

I loved running everyday at Ala Moana beach park and swimming there.

I miss Hawaii. In fact I'm going back to visit my parents in two weeks.

Yes I was born on Oahu, and lived there during my middle school ad high school years. But during childhood, I grew up in Seattle and in New Jersey.

I can't wait to hit the waters off Ala Moana beach park. I'm pretty sure the water is clean by now, after that Ala Wai sewage spill controversy (and I also heard some guy died from infection by flesh eating bacteria).

That sewage spill was a big deal in the news for a long time. They were blocking off parts of the beaches in Waikiki for a while. I don't go to the beach too much though so I wasn't really affected. A lot of people laugh when I say I like Waipahu because they think it is like the second worst area on Oahu right after Wainae! lol They have the best girls though. Several well known porn stars come from Waipahu so that should say something!

I know there's a huge Filipino population in the Waipahu area. I haven't been out there while living on Oahu. I do know some people who graduated from Waipahu High.

i go home every so often, i couldn't this year cuz i'm full time army now. plus no moolah. but yeah emp. i understand what you mean. it's just some of those oahu folks could be so disappointing.

I'm not trying to rub it in your face but I go jogging at Ala's 2-3 times a week then go for a nice surf session or swim, there's been a very good south swell this past few weeks.
