But it doesnt say anything about his ethnicity. I'm assuming he's Bengali since thats where he was born? He looks burmese to me... doesnt look indian.

i think burman might be an indian last name...there's this singer from indian movies from like the 70's or 80's named r.d. burman...although, that's the only time i've heard that name...sorry, i dont know anything about the guy ur asking about.

He was a royal person, his father was king of a county in tripura, yeah crown prince. He left his all his kingdome because of music. I read alot abt him when it was his death anniversary.
Guess his family is related to burma, his county was neighbouring burma. Perhaps his family is branch of big burmese royal family.

I'm not sure about the name Burman, but "Burma" is actually not an uncommon surname among Dutch people. I remember watching a field hockey match during the 1996 Atlanta Olympics where there was a player whose surname was "Burma".
