Once upon a time a japanese woman told her husband , "You seriously can't compare hanfu to kimono. A REAL kimono may easily exceed $10,000 -- that is in US dollar. A complete kimono outfit, with kimono, undergarments, obi, ties, socks, sandals and accessories, can exceed $20,000. The obi by itself can cost hundreds of dollars. In Japan, kimono gets passed down from one generation to the next. I am talking about the REALstuff made with silk, not the cheap incomplete imitation that Americans buy on eBay. Hanfu (nor hanbok) costs anyway near that kind of crazy amount."
Her husband could see the desperate emotions in her eyes burning her soul. Moments later the Japanese husband grinned and said "Yeah well I don't give a damn, make me some rice you whore", As he walked away leaving her in tears.
