I agree the interviewer could have deleted that line.. But u see indians are such an insensitive people and africans are considered so low by everyone that it is okay to say or do anything in media or in real. If this had happen in US there would have been a row over this public outcry both by whites and blacks but in india it is okay.

Few days ago there was a review of a tamil movie on rediff apraajit it was given A grade and but the reviewer started the review saying he hated tamil food culture etc.. Why should he say something like this?? All he had to do was review the movie why make personal comments like this and why could'nt rediff editor edit it out. There is no professionalism in indian media and indians ,especially bollywood makes so much fun of other cultures etc that it is considered okay to be insensitive...

Swathi, I agree with you in that many Indians can be very insensitive at times. I don't think many of these are outright racists with intention, but they just don't seem to get the point that they are insulting others. Unfortunately, its not just India either though, as many countries have such attitudes (usually one that leads to xenophobic attitudes).

I remember that thread by Deepa, but a lot of it was just rubbish and only served to cause some more racial hate on this forum.
