Okay, it seems that word games are invading the AF site. Well, I'll start one that uses creativity at the same time helping others understand our language.

Rules: Associate a Tagalog word (just a word!) to the one associated by the last poster, then below the letter or in a bracket, provide the meaning in English! Be creative (and amusing) when choosing an associated word. Hell, throw in an insider's joke, only Pinoys would get, once in a while!

Simple enough? Someone is bound to screw it up! embarassedlaugh.gif

Hint: Hyphenated words such as anting-anting, punong-guro or ingat-yaman count as one word.

Example:

Puno (tree)

Halaman (plants)

Get it?

I'll start:

Haligi (post, foundation, pillar)

haligi, i thought you said "haligid" so mine is haligid

^ano ang haligid?? sumone clear me on this game. icon_redface.gif

Asus! Just associate a Tagalog word with another Tagalog word, but give the definition, just in case someone is trying to learn Tagalog.

For example:

1st poster:
Halige (pillar)

2nd poster:
Bahay (house)

3rd poster:
Kubo (hut)

4th poster:
Nipa (palm)

5th poster:
Kamay (hand) <- pun, get it? palm-> kamay?

6th poster:
Sabon (soap)<- another pun, Camay soap embarassedlaugh.gif

7th poster:
Labada (laundry)

8th poster:
Sampayan (clothes line)

And so on... just follow up on the last Tagalog word and associate any which way you can. There's no wrong answers, just be creative! You can use puns, jokes, scientific, political, etc... You'll get the hang of it. Don't forget to give the English meaning!!! The funnier the connection the more fun the game is!

So, let's start again!
