Thai Ambassador to Cambodia has said that Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Sinawatra is planning an official visit to Cambodia in early August.
During a courtesy visit paid on Wednesday to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, HE Viraphand Vacharathit, newly appointed ambassador, informed the latter that Prime Minister Thaksin Sinawatra is going to pay a formal visit to Cambodia on August 10 if Prime Minister Hun Sen's schedule is available.
Prime Minister Hun Sen welcomed the scheduled visit and asked Thailand to send the delegation to work with the Cambodian side for the arrangement of the visit, according Mr. Ieng Sophalette, private assistant to Prime Minister Hun Sen, told reporters after the meeting.
Prime Minister Hun Sen said he hoped the new Thai ambassador would through his diplomatic mission further develop the cooperation between the two nations.
For his part, Thai Ambassador Viraphand Vacharathit said he would endeavor to promote and further consolidate the ties of friendship and cooperation of the two countries.--AKP
