Karisma Kapoor even said that people told her that she would never be popular with her combination of blue eyes and very fair skin. She had to wear brown contacts initially until she got accepted.

well there are so many light eyed women in india and none of them are famous...my sister has very light brown hair and my mom use to bought some special oils to make her hair darker whereas that kind of hair are called blond here and blond women are considered beutifull..lol...in punjab light brown or hazel eyes are considered better than green or blue eyes...

Yeah, not every light-eyed woman will be an actress lol. Indians generally don't like blonde hair on other Indians, but it's popular to dye your hair a brownish color or put highlights/accents on black hair. The highlights can be thin and tinted, so it will still look a girl has black hair.

As for those who wear colored contacts, hazel contacts are the most popular because they blend in with brown skin. Blue contacts look too tacky.

Gandhi was against the partition. And without him, India would have still been under British rule for decades more.

Exactly, Gandhi was never for the partition and vigorously fought against it many times. The only reason he agreed to the partition in the end was due to the lack of support he had and the fact a number of people close to him who feared a great civil war and pressured him to agree to partition. Not only that, Gandhi had also predicted the effects the partition would have and has been mostly correct.

I don't think he's talking about that theory, but he's talking about how some Pakistanis like to relate themselves to non-Desis (hence out of India term).

If you think about it, the Out Of India theory can be interpreted as an Out of Pakistan theory since the Indus civilization technically began in modern day Pakistan.

it is a religious thing obviously
in the times of the sikh rulers turbans were a normal thing actually they were worn by hindus muslims and sikhs...
sikhs never cut their hair as a sign of purity and the turban gives them a militant character in battle
they also keep their long hair in the turban

I don't think so as Guru Nanak visited Mecca

Why do Sikhs wear the turban? Wearing a head covering enables one to command the sixth center, the Agia Chakra. Covering the head stabilizes the cerebral matter and the twenty-six parts of the brain which are interlocked with the neurological system and electromagnetic field. Covering one's head creates a focus of the functional circuit of the hemispheres, and tunes the neurological system. The whole head should be covered, not just the Crown Chakra. Any head covering that covers the whole head is acceptable; white natural fabric is ideal.

Non of them are of mixed blood. You people should realize that Indians constitute very vast number of ethnicities. There were always mixing between people of the Indian subcontinent and nearby regions. Not all europeans have blue or green eyes. Everyone knows that it is a recessive color and brown dominates. So majority of people everywhere has brown eyes this includes India and Europe as well.

Chitpavan is a type of Sarasvat brahmins. They migrated from present day pakistan to Maharastra - Konkan region. Some Sarasvats went to Kashmir. Some people say that they migrated because Sarasvati river got dry, some others say they migrated because of invasions. Btw you have posted Aishwarya's picture. Look carefully then post.

Actually, I was taught that Sikhs wear a turban because its a good way to 1) keep your hair clean, and 2) because it gives a distinct identity to an entire group of people. I'm not sure about all that Agia Chakra stuff, but I wear my turban (I'm a Sikh Talktohand.gif) because of more practical reasons like I mentioned before.
