All I can say is it's not like the anime that you watch.
There're a few Japan experts on here, maybe you should ask specific questions.
cars and women being the main reasons for moving to a new country is going to make your life hard. Japan is a hella-expensive place to live in. if you have a proffessional job than go but you need to speak perfect japanese to work at airports since it is an important business. (reading instructions, knowing what others are telling you to do etc. )
Anyways, there are sites that can hook gaijins up with jobs, ill post them up but rigtht now im tired

I took a transfer course (japan exchange program) at waseda University and let me tell you.... competing with native japanese for jobs is not something you want to experience....

well unless hes a millionaire and he can buy the cars, and about the women, not all japanese girls look like they came straight outta hentai.
But like if you dont speak passable Japanese and read and write well, then your job will just go to someone who can... my advice.. learn japanese, study

Teaching English and employment with Japan's education provide nearly all job opportunity in Japan for white " gaijins ",Japanese don't require teaching credentials.Very few jobs open to non-Japanese speaking foreigners there, unless you're recruited by Japan-based foreign firms.

Youve got to have dough if you want to establish yourself in Japan.

Moving to a whole new country is no joke, its a pretty hard adjustment, especially in Japan where its crowded as hell and extremely expensive to live in.
They are already very overcrowded, you think they really want foriengers living over there?
Moving to Japan is an ENORMOUS decision, you should stop and think about it a little more.

Maybe you should visit Japan first, you dont just say I want to live there and go. You go there first, do some scouting, get a feel of the place. Oh and BTW, may I ask how old you are? Im guessing youre over 20 years old

UNFORTUNATELY there are thousands of those like him in existence.
I seriously think that Japan's pop/soft culture has a way to brainwash people, especially foreiengers. I just can't beleive that so many people would want to visit/move to Japan just because of their animation, videogames, cars, music, etc. I just don't understand it!!!

People here act experts on Japan. Stop it, you guys are oozing dorkyness and corniness at the same time. 25 of you shouldn't even be posting in this topic, including me.

i dont see why you guys are all butthurt. I can move and live to JAPAN FOR FREE. Im in the military and if they station me there I have FREE housing and FREE food and I still get my steady paycheck. Ive never been to an asian country and this is the poerfect time for me to do it. I was just sayin cars and women cause thats a plus but I really like the food and would like to expand my sense of different asian cultures.

i went to japan for a two week exchange aye... it was AWESOME!! so much technology, asian girls, nice food, nice cars, did i mention nice asian girls?
btw japan is a good place for a visit, or short term stay. i cant really see myself living there for more than a year, it seems kinda stressful...
also, if u meet some friendly Japanese girls on vacation, theyre prob being nice cos ur a tourist... once u become a resident they wont take a second glance...

Even if you go there to Japan, Japanese girls are so picky so it means it would be very hard for a foreigner to have a japanese girl

i have a good reason for wanting to move to japan, i live in norway.... hahahaha
most expensive country in the freaking world, oslo is more expensive than tokyo, living expenses i mean, everything else is cheaper in japan, i lived there for 4 months last year, it was part of the japanese language program i am in at the university of oslo. i liked living in japan though, but i agree that moving to a country just because of the women and the cars is kinda rash. learn the language, travel there and talk with the people, get a feel for the country and the culture. Living in japan with no friends and not being able to communicate to the japanese people would make you feel very very isolated and lonely. You should do some more research. And dont base your conclusions upon the impression you get from the girls or the anime or any stupid $hit like that.
Oh and by the way, dont take the responses in this thread too seriously, most of them are japan-haters or worse!
