But you should really read up on Japan before 1940, before the agression. It's actually very interesting how they became such a nationalist state. Cause before the Meiji restoration, the Japanese weren't really like that. Japanese soldiers in the pacific islands were starving to death and there is documentation that they ate pow soldiers and their own soldiers. Cannibalism was widely practiced during the war. Imperial edicts was against cannibalism unless the enemies was dead.

i read that too and learned about one example in class. that there in a pacific island (forgot the name) but they killed the natives for food. we're not saying japanese are more prone to cannibalism. even in north korea, there has been stories of cannibalism out of extreme starvation. i don't see how it makes it looks like only japanese are cannibals and are thus by nature.. cuz they're not.
