I know its weird for an Indian to ask this, but why are there so few Japanese on these forums and in the Japanese section as compared to Chinese for example?

My classmate Japaness boy know of AF. He sometimes reads AF, he feels it is waste of time to comment on those post regarding Japan.

WHite english speaking forums are better place to learn proper english

I havent been here for some time, and I am Japanese American.
I do not know if Ogumo is nikkei or not, but he is also a Japanese poster here.

Many of the Japanese people who come on here leave/are turned off because of the tasteless comments some 'nationalists' leave in nearly all of the topics made in this section.

I haven't seen many Japanese people at English-speaking forums in general... Weird huh? Even at J-pop forums and other Asian music forums... lol But obviously, there are many at Japanese forums. But what about all the Japanese-Americans and such?

Japanese people don't need to come to the states. They already have top notch univerisities and a clean stable environment for kids to grow up in. I don't see why they need to come to America or Europe to degrade them selves. Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China and other developing countries send their kids overseas for them to get a decent reconizable education to succed in the world.

Also to add. Amazing how the Japanese Chat survives and even overwhelms other Chats like Hmong or Combodia without having any stationary Japanese users. I guess that's to be expected

This forum is participated by many Asian American in the US from my observation, and there are relatively less Japanese Americans.

Many Japanese who got degree in the US go back to Japan to get job.
There is not simply financial incentives to work in the US.

I am also amazed the interest in Japanese from non-japanese in this forum.

I'm afraid its mostly because of its enormous pop/soft culture. I'll shamefully admit thats a main reason why I am interested in Japan.

I think you are mistaking me for someone else. There are alot of users with "quan" in their names. I hardly post in the Chinese Chat if ever nor talk about Chinese people. Most of my interests are knowing and learning about other countries.

Chinese are nowhere near as nationalistic as this place indicates. However, I was just annoyed sometimes by some of your comments on Chinese chat. I guess it is just due to misunderstanding and miscommunication on both sides. I did not mean anything with my earlier comments.

Also, there is a lot of trolling that goes on in Chinese chat which just feeds more nationalistic responses. everyone just needs to cool down. I notice the longer I read this forum, the more edgy I've become with regards to the flamebaits that keep popping up, which is why I don't read this place as much anymore and it is usually centered on Chinese chat only.

Im interested in japanese becuase of the language .. it makes soooo much sense and it's very organized .. its easy for me to pick up and yeah .. the culture interests me too .. im not so into japanese pop culture or whatnot, unless it's videgames
