What do you think? laugh.gif

You know I would have to go with China Dolls. The khmer singers just don't have the voices for it. They sound like they're better off singing looktoong. They have that annoying looktoong voice...lol Besides, CD can dance way better than the other girl.
Sirikittong
LOL. Cant beat the original, but i gotta give it to the khmers for trying tho. They sound slower in their version of CD.

55555555555555555555 @ Luktung. They have the perfect voice for it eh?

China Dolls' Oh Oh Oh (Thai Version) is great too. Ive heard the chinese version--sounds alright as well.

Wow the China dolls are cool! I don't think it was a good idea to copy them. Kim Lakhena isnt a very good singer in my opinion but she has had some nice songs out of her collection. It wouldve been better if she sung one of her oldies love.gif

I love the China dolls I can't understand what they are saying though. I have the cd with them when they are wearing native american clothes (animation version)

they have a hip-rock feel to them

Sirikittong
lol. What is your favorite China Dolls song, running horse?

Unfortunately I can’t type in Thai so I’ll just scan them to you

Can you check back in 5 minutes? embarassedlaugh.gif

I'm such a jerk I love Japanese women but I tend to float on the Chinese, Thai, Fillipino, etc... side. I hope I don't cheat on my wife sure.gif

I guess I'm love with Asian culture and language which makes me love it all (especially Asian women) It is going to be hard to commit mainly to the Japanesse language and culture

if you are wondering where this is comming from I just saw the name China Dolls and I remembered how I would listen to their cd for hours out of the day then I would move on to E.L.T. or Ayumi Hamasaki, etc...

I'm a music junkie I ususaly think like this..... the peoples music usualy reflects thier culture and the manurisms. I guess thats why I never liked r&b or soul

too boring to sexual too slow.

but when the China Dolls sing slow they sound like angels........ why? I think its because of the manurisms they want to show in thier music. I know music is flexable so I don't want to sound so vauge

I hope you understand what I'm talking about here.

sorry for getting off subject, I usualy open up like this when refering to things I like. eek.gif

I like all of the songs on this cd but I especially like the ones where you can hear the China Dolls saying "what'cha going to do shake shake"

hahaha no problem at all running horse, so im assuming you're japanese? If so..konbanwa! =)

yea i kinda understand how you feel, because i normally am turned of by slow music, but theres something about original asian music (traditional) that gets my attention. Either if its thai, cambodian, vietnamese, chinese, japanese, indian and middle eastern--it just interests me.

Thats awesome how you have a general interest in asian music/culture. Just yaa...dont cheat on the wife embarassedlaugh.gif.

=P

Dewa Mata!!

konbanwa

nope I'm not Japanese I do how ever speak some Japanese

I'm multi-racial with a little less than 15% asian ancestory (Chinese by my research)

low I know but it's still a part of me i'm not giving it up. biggthumpup.gif

My Native American (cherokee) ancestory gives my Asian ancestory a boost giving me an overall Asian-African look My Caucasian side makes me a bit lighter. embarassedlaugh.gif

lol! dont forget the pepper, mate. hahahah embarassedlaugh.gif

Awesome. I actually have some navajo cds back in my dorm. Im in love with navajo flute music--specially the excerpt from the movie, "The Wind Talkers'.

Something about wind instruments--that just brings me to tears. Cant explain it.

I know what you mean, the flutes are called "Pan flutes"

you should watch dances with wolves or dream keeper or skins or smoke signals

I have seen them all multable times I usually only watch them (in my later years) when I'm feeling the urge to express my native side. Its a feeling like if you were sitting next to a pretty woman, a deep appreciation it's hard to describe. it's like you want to re-assimulate yourself into Native culture but you can't

especially for me since I already set a plan to get married in Japan and carry on a multi-cultural Japanese culture. As you get stronger "culturaly" you start to stand on your own two feet, meaning you no longer need a reminder of who you are. I feel as if I can carry on my culture and my wifes culture through my children, and I will.

by the way I like the Lakota the best I think they are also called SUIOX(sp) the Dakota tribe from the black hills, where mt. Rushmore is now.
Sirikittong
^ Ive seen dances with wolves, a while ago..the movie was very emotional for me. The ending was rather sad, a sad end for the once proud Sioux tribes.

You ever watched ' The Last Mohicans'? That movie is really great--great storyline and the musicals are just second to none.

But on the spirit of multi cultural music, i thought youd like this:

Its a burmese song called Thazin-Lwan Chit Kyi. I dont know what they're talking about--but the tune is pretty up beat--and the singer is soothing to the eye.

Kim Leakhana is a horrible singer. The only reason why she is still singing is because of her looks.
Sirikittong
She has a really high pitch voice--she would be great in Looktung songs or morlam songs. I bet she's good in ramvong songs eh?
sbeechan
Actually, I don't even think she does ramvong songs. All of her songs are pretty annoying, her voices and the types of songs she sings. ^_^

IMO she looks like a chipmunk to me.
Sirikittong
I like her high pitch voice tho. I bet she sings good traditional khmer folk songs.
