Hi,
Just to let you all know...there are 14
official languages in India and many more unofficial so depending on who you speak with this may or may not apply as each region has its own language. Hindi is most commong in Northern India and you can probably speak it and make yourself understood by most North Indians. By the way the word
ji is a symbol of respect much like saying ma'am or sir in english. Here is what I can help you with:
Hello -> Namaste/Namaskar (pretty much used by every region in India)
Thank you -> Thundeevad (there is pronunciation, however, the phrase thank you is not used often and only among strangers. Close friends and relations do not use this).
That's beautiful -> Bohaat Sundar literally means "very beautfiul"
I get it -> aachaa or teekay (literally means OK)
I can't understand you -> Mein somush tee hain
yes Huh ji
no nahee ji
never mind, do not trouble yourself koy baat nahee
little, very small chotee chotee
big burda
I am finished, no more bus (applies to food, drink, and ending an argument)
Need anything else just ask, I might can help.
