As an older, 1st-gen KA, I'm all to familiar with the regionalism (ji-bang-gam) among Koreans/KAs close to my age and even stronger one among those who are older. Now, this is partly due to the Korean history when the Three Kingdoms were constantly fighting and bickering among them - which definitely weakened the unity of entire Korea. But, it's a fact that the same, negative sentiments have spilled over and continued even to modern Korea, unfortunately. Have you noticed any strong regionalism among the KAs around you - particularly by the younger generations of your age? In fact, do you identify strongly with the region in Korea where you or your parents (especially of your father) came from? If so, is it based on some, real, practical benefits or necessity to you, even as a KA (in America)?

I have never witnessed regional hostilities being shared among teenagers or people in their 20s.
However, my old man and his family are Seoulites and have a seething disdain for Junlado people. Especially those from Junlanam-Do / Mokpo. In fact, it's not just Seoulites, but everyone has nothing but disdain for Julado people as they're said to be the people who can hate you with a smile and betray you.
So, I think unless you're a country yokel, no teenagers or young adults show their regional animous, me thinks. I think its more of the older generation being that way.
