Vietnam Airlines ordered 4 Boeings 787 and expect to order at least 10 more of 787s. In the near future, we can go from Los Angeles/San Francisco/Portland/Seattle/Vancouver to Saigon/Hanoi/Danang directly, without the need to stop in Japan/Korea/Taiwan/Hong Kong.

I like the light blue color with the yellow lotus flower. About the Vietnam flag, it seems kind of odd at the end of the plane. Red color does not compliment well with blue and yellow colors in terms of artistry and design.

I know what you mean. Hopefully, by then, Vietnamese people know how to provide decent professional customer services and treat customers/clients respectfully and courteously.

If you visit Vietnam in 10-15 years time, you would not even recognise it. So many infrastructure projects are underway. In Hanoi alone, several groups of high-rise and metro rail are being built. I cant wait to see it in 10-15 years.

The color of vietnam airline is a light yellow lotus on a green background.
Lotus is everywhere in Vietnam. It is a symbol of "purity"

Example is this classic vietnamese poem:

"Trong đầm gì đẹp bằng sen
Lá xanh bông trắng lại chen nhị vàng
Nhị vàng bông trắng lá xanh
Gần bùn mà chẳng hôi tanh mùi bùn"

Basically it says that lotus is usually grown out of paddy and unclean water; but the flower itself is so fragant and clean.
It doesnt contain the smell of mud which is supposedly not that beautiful.

Green is a modest color. Not as shock as red, pink or as bright as yellow, white.

The color scheme is good, i think.

Lotus is a flower that is surrounded by dirt and shiet but it remains itself as pure and clean; that's why Vietnam chooses lotus as the national flower.

I'm very glad VA continuously seeks to expand its business and fleet. They have to, to survive competition and to accomodate more tourists, as all of our magnificant beaches will be fully developed over time. By then, Vietnam will be the top 5, not just top 10 as predicted, in tourism.

One of my family members told me VA actually served real, hot Pho during the flight. I wonder how the staff could control the smell icon_smile.gif
