freaking huge korean marketplace/mall. it's on waukegan ave. by waukegan and milwaukee. it reminded me of a Mitsuwa. but its bigger. better quality, more produce, cleaner, but more crowded. they have a bubble tea place there but it sucks (dont go there please).

they have plethoras of korean makeup/beauty stores. there are higher end ones like ones that sell Iope, shiseido, laneige, etc. but theres one store thats nice , The Face store, that sells quality makeup for good prices. i bought this really good toner and lotion for about $11 bucks each! and a nice lipgloss for about 7. the thing is this is all good quality stuff from korea and not those crappy drugstore types.

they have a lot of korean products like morning glory stuff, korean crystal clips, jewerly, etc. and a food court, but someone advised me not to eat the food there. its sort of like a mall with the individual stores on the sides. but sorta crowded. they are giving away a lot of coupons, sale items, free items with purchases now because it opened up not too long ago.

a lot of non koreans go there too, i was a bit surprised. but i like the purchases i made so far.. they have a hair salon there too

my cousin and his dad go there several times a month.

Is called H mart like the thread indicated. I was there today, is pretty big in there. I heard it use to be a Dominick's. I thought it be more of a cultural place, but it was just another market with mini-shops inside. Most interesting shop I saw there was the 8 million rice cake place. doesn't even seem like a million rice cakes in there. Also, the Jade bed place seem pretty cool. I heard they're gonna open another Korean Market by Cicero near Ford City.

why you surprised that non-koreans go there? i thought korean fashion/makeup was popular amongst all asians these days.

I'm Filipino and my parents go there like twice a month. The few times I went, there were even quite a few non-asians as well.

They have the Grand Market now too. I haven't been there yet, but I heard during is grand opening one household can get a dozen of eggs for 1 cent.

my parents shop at the H mart like every weekend. last weekend, they brought a huge bag of kimchi. eeeeewwwwwwwww! looks like someone died.

try the coconuts.
although the prices have gradually increase there.
And it's a hit or miss deal.
many shoppers are ditching the Argyle's locales for this store already.
