you're not rasta just cuz you put dreadlocks on. it's kinda like saying you're asian by studying kungfu.

rasta hair is sexy/cool...assuming the person with the dreadlocks keep their hair well washed well groom and clean

I was at this party with this white kid who had dreads. He hadn't cut his hair in 7 years lol it was almost down to his waste. His dreads were pretty tight though. Personally I think dreads can pretty much look good on anyone as long as they take care of them. Too many people grow their hair out, make $hitty looking locks, and think they're cool. Also like fcm said having dreads doesn't make you rasta and not having dreads doesn't mean you can't be rasta. I think

remember when whitney houston and bobby brown decided that they're "black hebrews"? the rastfari movement was a jamaican movement similar to that.
but dreadlocks i don't think it is part of the religion. it's just that being people started to stereotype Jamaican=Rasta=dreadlocks. much like Japanese=ninja/samurai=sushi.
