I don't understand this animosity toward Ziyi. She's just an actress. You either like her, or you don't.
Personally, I didn't think much of her acting in her martial art films, but in Geisha she really showed some very convincing acting. I mean how great is the acting of most actors in martial art films anyway?!

Is Jet Lee a great actor? From all the films I've seen I'd have to say: no.
But he still kicks @$$ in all his films and people think he's great.

Ziyi isn't the best actress out there, or even the prettiest, but most people don't seem to mind...

for me it really doesnt matter if she does play Mulan cause the accuracy of the movie is more important. She might not act as badly as she did in w/e film u guys thought she suked in.

With Zhang playing the role of mulan look for a very japanese washed version of mulan. Its a shame too that used to be one of my favorite disney movies

Ugh...not Zhang. I would love to see a live action Mulan movie...but with someone with a tougher look.

I was thinking more in terms of someone like michelle kwan because of the physical similarities or even a michelle hu. I wasn't hoping for zhang to be playing this part.
