Yeah and most Indonesian men don't care at all. I hate when they smoke in public place, like bus or angkot.

When someone being told not to smoke in a "No Smoking" area,
why still expected to be told, not to smoke politely.
I got a fight with someone because I yelled at him to put out his cigarette.

Hey in Malaysia I knew of people who always tried to smuggle Gudung/Gadung, a brand of Indonesian cigarettes which they prefered. A lot of people have said its a "good" cigarette.
Do you guys know the brand I'm talking about? If you've tried it, how is it differnet to other cigarettes, just curious.

Clove can be used for cooking food.

However, without cigarette companies' sponsor; Indonesia will not have local football leaques, basketball leaques (a lot of them try to act like Black American but can't play like their "friends" over there), badminton probably will only be played at open space...
What to do?

hm..first of all, I dont mind people smoking. its their own right. But, what I hate the most is sometimes they dont care about others. I feel funny when a father smoke in front of his baby when in restaurant. All I have in my mind is " great, you are making your children one step closer to unhealthy". So, for smokers I think its better if they polite and not smoke everywhere. Especially in Indonesia, once i go to restaurant to. there is " no smoking " sign. But still they smoke....this kind of thing should be changed.

it's quite a dilemma actually, if sanctions are imposed on the cigarette companies then the smaller companies would have to shut down their bussiness. This would result in unemployments for its workers.
But I am completely for banning cigarettes!
I was just wondering, does anybody know whether those home made cigarettes (the ones that the old generations makes by themselves) has the same effects as factory made ones? It definitely has nicotine, but I would guess that it doesn't have the additional chemicals that exist in factory made cigarettes. The thing is my grandpa smoke those since his late 20's and his last medical check up didn't show any ailments on any of his organs (including lungs)! But he isn't a chain smoker (usually only 2-3 per day)

Those hand rolled cigarettes won't have tar, which is carcinogenic. Nicotine makes neuron addiction to the tobacco. But tar is what causes cancer..

Banning cigarettes is very good, but not good for the country.
Ofcourse because employers will lose their job.
But if indonesia really is the 4th most smoking country as the say and when smoking is banned, the next month will be chaotic. People will get sick or lower their workspeed when not smoking.
I personally think indonesia is not one of the top five smoking countries, because i have seen worse in other countries.
