North Indians could give a flying fu-k about us West, South, and North-East Indians.

Uh, I hope you're being sarcastic.

If you're not....I can give you loads of examples of North Indians inter-marrying with Southies, Gujaratis, Bengalis, etc...... Just look at Bollywood! icon_wink.gif

BTW, I hope you weren't implying that the states below the Punjab belt aren't "North India".........since I noticed you just used the term "North Indian" in response to my comment. I think I'm going to pull my hair, if I have to explain that those one or two states in the North-West section only make up a small portion of North India. icon_sad.gif

Some of the states included in that North Indian map aren't always considered "North India."

MP is referred to as "Central India." Bihar and Jharkhand are often grouped along with Bengal and Orissa .

Not that it matters though. Everyone's looked at as Indian at the end of the day, whether you like it or not. If you haven't noticed, a lot of North Indian UPites can easily pass off as South Indian. So much for Aryan power. laugh.gif

I'm sorry. I didn't know that you enjoyed riding Max Muller's c@ck.

Sorry, I didn't know that you were Max Muller's little b!tch.

All what I looked at when I clicked on the first link was a wikipedia site defining which states make up which areas of North India. sure.gif I didn't give a crap what the rest said.

no dong muncher, I'm saying North India does exist as geo-ethnic region, you denied that and didn't link to any articles the support your assertion. My own opinion is north indians aren't very friendly. I rather be max's muller's b!tch, than be proud of some faux corupt mughul babus culture that a lot of indians seem to enjoy.

LOL... I was just making sure that you knew what's considered North India, since some people abroad seem to think Punjab and Kashmir cover that entire area and haven't even heard of Rajasthan, UP, Uttaranchal, Haryana, etc. I didn't even look at those links, because I didn't know that you wanted to start this nonsense about Aryans and Dravidians.

I looked at that site just for you, and there is some careful wording that you had to look out for. "North Indians are GENERALLY lighter," just like how Swedish and Norweigans are GENERALLY lighter than Greeks and Italians, or how Irish people are distinguished for their quirky, curly red hair and freckles. I wonder why? How funny it is that they all identify as white.

Notice how that site also mentions that caste can SOMETIMES correlate with skin color. There are lower-castes and tribal communities in UP/Rajasthan, who are almost indistinguishable from those "stereotypical" Dravidians. kiss.gif

seriously majority of north indian people probably don't fit my stereotype, but the point I'm making is that there is a north india where where there certain overlapping similarities. Maybe I'm the one living in my own dream land of an evil north indian global conspiracy, but there are many Aryans that live there.

Sunita Piraji

Are you sure she's Paki. She says shes Mahrashtrian.

By Sumeha Malik

Sari is a ‘hot’ item these days as more & more young girls are seen sporting this ensemble at all the formal functions. With the potential to create different moods, this ‘evergreen’ dress has myriad varieties. Our model for the month, Sunita, with her waif-like charm & eastern looks shows us how one can look ‘drop-dead-gorgeous’ in saris having totally different styles & textures.

In today’s chic world of glamour, fashion and design, it is not easy for a new model to make a place for herself. Yet this is exactly what Sunita Piraji has done – and in a short span of time, too. It’s only been a couple of years since she surfaced, and so far has done quite a few shoots. But that’s not the real Ms. Piraji. Of her everyday life she says, “If you were to see me when I’m out with my “mumma” I’m far from the fashionable Sunita. I am usually in my shalwar kameez, flat sandals, hair braided, sans make up. The fashionable me is when I’m with friends or in front of the camera.”

Sunita is a friends’ friend. She’s there for her friends – whenever they need her. “We’re four friends and I really love them. They are excellent. If given an option to be at a party or be with my friends, I would choose my friends anytime. I have to be out at weekends with them. We don’t do much, just hang around and chill.” She is a Leo and of a forgiving nature. “I don’t mind being the first to apologize even if I am not at fault. But I hate confrontations. I will let a thing go rather than embarrass somebody. That is the most difficult thing for me to do,” says Sunita.

Sunita does not believe in wasting any time. Rather than sitting around doing nothing, she would rather opt for a comparatively lesser paying assignment anytime. At least something’s coming her way. “That’s not always the case, only when I don’t have a busy schedule. Could be the money-making streak in her or could be that she finds it difficult to say no. Whatever the case, Sunita is a happy and independent girl, content with her lot in life. Or is she? Does she aspire for more and more. “Don’t we all? When we get what we dream of, then we want more and more. That is quite natural.” If looked at from another perspective this could also be the reason for dissatisfaction as one would always be aspiring for more. A debatable point!

This is the story of Sunita Piraji. A girl who has always been clear-headed about what she wants – to be out there where all the action is. “Ever since I was a child I was enamoured of the glamour world. I would watch beautiful women on television and dream of being like them some day.” Some people just want to be in the limelight. “That was a dream for me which has been fulfilled.”

This passion stayed with her even in college. It was there that friends introduced her to people in the media and that’s how she got her first chance in a ‘Dawlance’ commercial. “It was the fame and also the money that really tempted me. It pays well. After the ‘Dawlance’ commercial I started doing shoots for magazines.” Sunita – Sonia to her near and dear ones – continued on in this manner till May this year when she was spotted and signed by Nabila’s Creative Services. “It’s a very slick and professional setup and they groom models. They gave me a make-over, giving me a new hair-do and changed the colour as well. Where else would this have been possible. And the best thing about them is that they do not impose assignments on you. Models are informed about the project and then the decision is entirely theirs. If one is not comfortable with it that’s that.”

How can it be that Sunita calls herself a model, yet, hasn’t appeared on the ramp? She has participated in a couple of fashion shows choreographed by Seemi Pasha and Imran Qureshi. “They are both very good to work with and money is never a problem when working with them. You don’t even have to ask for it – before you know it, it’s in your hands.” Then how come she didn’t stick to the ramp for long? “People think I am short to be on the catwalk,” reveals this model with a height of 5’ 5”. Don’t they always have their reasons. However, shoots continue at all times. There may be a break in everything else but she keeps on appearing in one glossy or the other.

There are also those who target television as the next step after modelling. That’s not Sunita’s cup of tea either. She hosted a musical programme Music Mania, but that was how far her debut with television went. She claims to have enjoyed it. Why then keep away from it. “Because I’m sure no one else will have the patience that Seemi Baji had. I have a tendency to rote learn my lines and then I forget. This results in retake after retake but I haven’t been able to master the art so far. So rather than put somebody through that I will take some time before deciding whether I want to act or not.” Is it that you are unsure of yourself as an actress? “That too, as I’m not too certain about my histrionic talent.” When can we hope to see a new artist out there? “Maybe tomorrow, maybe never,” she says humorously.” Sunita loves to keep one guessing and doesn’t want everyone to know of her plans.

Studious is not a word that describes Sunita. “I never was a study freak. I just did it for the sake of it. Never was ambitious either. Engineer, doctor, MBA none of that for me. After graduation I served in an airline as an airhostess. I really enjoyed myself but left that too after a year and a half.” She does not care to cite the reasons for not flying anymore. “Any plans of being airborne again?” we inquire of her. “Maybe, maybe not,” goes Sunita, secretive as ever.

Sunita’s family is pretty cool about her choice in life, be it the airline or her artistic pursuits in front of the camera. “I am the only one in my family, and also in my community to be modelling.” She is a Maharashtran. “They trust me and know that I will never make wrong choices. I always have this thing at the back of my mind about what my mother would say if she got to know I’d done something unacceptable. Or for that matter what would my baby brother feel. Because my actions will also reflect on him.”

Sunita always knew that the word ‘model’ carries a certain stigma with it, but she was cool about it. “I never let that bother me. Whenever you tell people that you’re a model their reaction is quite predictable – it’s bad. But that does not upset me. I don’t care what people say. If somebody has a certain image of me I will try to prove to that person that all are not alike. Since I haven’t done anything wrong why should I let it bother me.”

Sunita believes that modelling is a must in any society. “If there were no models no designs could be exhibited, there would be no shoots –– shoots are a must in magazines. In short, models play a vital role in society.” To be a successful model she says, “You have to have a good figure. If I was fat and short, obviously nobody would want me. It makes all the difference.” For Sunita modelling is both a hobby and a career. Her belief is, “Make the most of it. What I can do today I won’t be doing twenty years from now. So why not do it?”

There is one aspect to her personality that Sunita is not too happy about. “I am quite indecisive. I can never reach a decision. And even if I do I always have afterthoughts. For instance if I have to buy a shoe I’ll go to the first shop. Something there might catch my eye. But I’ll continue going on to all the other shops and after wasting so much time I’ll come back to that first shop again.” Can be a hazard when the time for choosing a partner comes. Is this what you’ll do even then? You may like somebody, but still continue on in quest of someone better and finally return to the first one. Unlike a shoe, the person might have moved on? “I do take advice in life,” she responds.

For Sunita, money plays a pivotal role in life. “In a relationship, money is as important as love, even more so. Love cannot buy clothes or food for you. Only money can. No money, no love! A girl will never marry a destitute person voluntarily.” Sorry all you impoverished guys, but only the moneyed ones may make an offer for her. Marriage is not a priority for Sunita at present. Her work keeps her quite busy. When not busy she enjoys sleeping – also a mode of relaxation for her. “When I find the right guy and feel the time’s right, then I might settle down.” And give up work? She nods her head and says serenely, “I have my priorities clear.” [Wonder what she means by that!]
