And what do you mean about Bollywood being bias? You mean picking the whiter looking girls over the darker ones? Thats the same with any place you go, its just how they see beauty.

Hmm the thing is a lot of these light skinned bollywood actresses ain't that hot, the chick at the top of this page is one example.

There is discrimination agains south indians but then again Bollywood in general is catered towards North India. South India has its own film industries, and in monetary terms are as big as Bollywood.

Also, aishwarya is a Tulu. So, bollywood's biggest actress is a south indian. There are a good number of south indian actress but then again, bollywood isn't big in south india at all.

neither is she very famous. she got into bollywood because of her famous actress mother, sharmila tagore and her famous father whos from the royal family of india. Her brother is a very famous actor too.

i dont know if i necessarily agree with that statement...the north indian vs. south indian thing isnt an issue in india, as much as it is in america...for the most part, it isnt even an issue in the uk or canada either...most ppl in india say that generally, south indians are more educated than their northern counterparts, and south india as a whole is more developed than north india. i think this has a lot to do with more of north indian land being used for agricultural purposes, and more of south indian land being used for industrial purposes. so i dont know if the discrimination part is true in india, although i agree it does hold true in america.

this is just what i've observed, it's not necessarily totally accurate. and i'm in no way trying to put down any north indians. i respect all indians.
