Seoul - A niece of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il killed herself in Paris, probably because she did not want to return to her home in the reclusive state, Yonhap news agency reported on Friday.

Jang Keum-song, 29, died in Paris - where she was studying - because of what appeared to be an overdose of sleeping pills taken after drinking alcohol, Yonhap cited a source in Seoul with access to intelligence on North Korea as saying.

It said Jang's body, which was found by her bodyguard, was subsequently sent back to Pyongyang.

Daily NK, a South Korean internet news service run by conservative journalists and defectors from the North, quoted a source in Europe as saying Jang apparently committed suicide.

Authorities in France and an official at the North Korean representation in Paris could not immediately confirm the reports.

Kim Jong-il has sent his three known sons overseas for studies and members of North Korea's elite are rewarded by being stationed abroad.

This must be the most oldest trick in the book.

Ya ok so a member of a high or in this case leader of a countries family(niece) dies of drug overdose. Blameing it on a nation like North Korea is totally the lowest form of comeback insult that i have ever read. But of course anybody who is pro- U.S.A has no other means of higher intelligence.

Kim Jong-Il's niece is rich because she is Kim Jong-Il's niece, she is kind of like a heir to the throne only way down the ladder.

Just like a typical powerful & rich family she has $ to spend, she even has her own bodyguard, ya sheesh i wish i could afford my own bodyguard so i can kick anybodys butt who doesn't respect my authority.

Come on people we've heard it all before, rich kid spends $ on everything includeing the most expensive drugs on this earth & thru time too much of it becomes a killer.
