There are alot of Filipinos with I.M.F.S.C syndrome, identity crisis and not true to their roots.....Im gonna say this again like i said in one of the topics i recently posted THE FILIPINO RACE IS A PRODUCT OF CENTURIES WORTH OF MIXING (MALAY, SPANISH, POLYNESIA..ETC). So for all you filipinos who fall under those problems is listed above then i'll say this again THE FILIPINO RACE IS A PRODUCT OF CENTURIES WORTH OF MIXING. You can only say your half whatever if one of your parents are really from a different country.

Otherwise if both of your parents are originally from the philippines or who trace both of their family sides back to the philippines....then you should just say Filipino...Dont say half dis, part this. WTF!...Dont matter if your a pinoy with spanish, malay whatever blood....if your parents are from the philippines or trace both their roots back to the Philippines then your just filipino. ITS YOU NATIONALITY

There are plenty of hispanics that are mestizo.....you cant just tell they are....but when you ask them what dey are they'll just tell you their mexican, cuban, colombian etc. They dont care about their spanish and native blood lines. They only care about their nationality. We share a common history with hispanics why cant we just claim our nationality like them? They dont any identity crisises!

well to be honest. i do claim that i have part chinese, indian, spanish and filipino descent. well its the truth!! i cant hide the fact that i am. but hey, i still claim that im a proud pinoy no matter what. im speak tagalog. i was born there and dont even look indian and spanish except that i do look filipino with chinesey eyes!! LOL

i only bring it up when its necessary or when i need to clear things up. but if not, then u'll never hear me say anything but juz filipino.

Just because a person might have the IMSCF syndrome doesn't mean they don't actually have Spanish blood or Chinese blood.... I think it's the emphasis on these parts of our ancestry that is so distasteful. I mean, a good deal of us have Chinese background right?? and a few of us, may have Spanish background... but they are really just neglegible... Doesn't matter who your great great grandfather/mother was, YOU ARE FILIPINO, and that's COOL enough....

It's been like this since i joined this forum. It's only irritating if they're "wannabes", even then though, so what. Most of us are mixed anyway, though the majority are malays. I know 100% spanish/chinese etc... mestizas/mestizos that are probably more proud of being a filipino than those so called "real" filipinos. This tension amongst us are really unnecessary.

hello out there. i am not filipino. but black. it seems to me we share the same problems with self esteem etc. it is my observation that in any culture where you have/had imperialsm and oppression subjugated on others by whites this problem with self hate persists. i think filipino are beautiful warm people. i must say i get along with filipino very well and they have always welcomed me when other races were not so welcoming.
