its true. LOL! once in san francisco my mom & i rode a cable car & the driver was filipino. we chatted w/ him & found out that he was bisaya. he was so cool. he didnt let us pay or anything. for like 40 minutes we went around san francisco in this scenic cable car & it was totally free, compliments of a kababayan.

I know every filipino around my area. :S Everytime I see a new filipino they normal grab my cheek and say I'm really handsome.

apparently every filipino in america is related in one way or another . my friend invited me to a catilian a while back and i just started seeing random filipino aquaintances from elementary school to college to work. it was pretty crazy.

kahit saan naman siguro... here in central asia, if u r new and filipinos knew that u r a filipino... they will invite u also in their house...
even in the bars and clubs... they will take u from ur groups who are diff. races(because u have diff. company)... i think it also already in the culture of filipino that if u r far away from home...and u r just few in that area..

yeah my suburb is full filo and evry1 knows each other .. and wen i went to phils . i was in the tricycle with my tito . and he would nod to like nearly every single person on the street .. he knew like evryone

That's because we are practically the only malay representatives in America. so, naturally when we see a malay, we assume Filipino, and some chinese. We're like jews in that we have this networking community. My white friend was like, know 1 Filipino, in time you'll know them all. Now, all her friends are practically filipino.

I disagree...I dont see filipinos as pacifists. We as a people try to avoid conflicts but in no way are we non aggressive.

I wish that were like that where I live. I feel like its my Mom's generation (like the ones that actually speak Tagalog) who stick together. Plus there weren't enough Filipinos in my HS...wish we woulda stayed in Daly City, lol...

No way. Not one filipino I've come across have ever tried to start an argument - avoiding conflict has a lot to do with the non-aggressiveness. They don't like physical trouble, not like many others.

Thats what i meant its a part of our culture to avoid conflict because it creates chaos, but that does not mean we are none agressive. Lots pinoys (mostly males like to start trouble, its pretty embarassing actually.

i live in a white dominated city. but most pinoys here know each other. ironically juz yesterday as me and my dad were walking in front of the grocery, my dad juz randomly talked to this pinoy guy randomly and i found out they knew each other. then we went to home depot and my dad knew this pinoy guy that worked in home depot that knows my uncle. and then we went the dollar store and then i hear my dad saying condolence to another pinay who juz came back from the philippines from a funeral.

i always assumed it was because my dad is an insurance agent

Not really, In my school, chinese, viets, and koreans are assimilated into the every larger Filipino crew. We stick together, but the previous are usually either by themselves or with the Asian gang with a Flip majority.

We must mingle with each other because we are the only one in the world who can understand each other. Magtayo na tayo ng isang state sa Amerika na puro Pilipino, doon magsamasama lahat ng Pilipino sa buong Amerika, hehehe!!! Ano kaya magandang pangalan ng state na yun.

I think it all depends on what city you come from. My city is largely made up of asians and mexicans. I've known alot of philipinos over the years and its true - you guys are very nice. But like every race - there are the bad ones too. I've know some philipino boys to be in latino gangs - and they were very aggressive. As for all philipinos knowing each other, that is somewhat true. Many minorities tend to stick together. Its just easier to talk to someone that knows your language and can identify with your culture.

What you say is true. SJ is dominated by Asians and Latinos. Not too many blacks here though. That's why most of the gangs over here are Asians and Latin gangs. Although we have gangs in our city, SJPD is doing a good job in keeping them in line. That's why SJ is one of the safest big cities in the country.

i hear that man...i got an Aunt who still talks $hit about pinoys even though her white husband knocked up 2 other pinays while he was still married to her. the fukked up part is that all 3 idiots are still competing for his affection.
