I came across some interesting cook books

AND decided to post this topic out of curiosity....

Well here are my questions:

1* can you cook Khmer's food if so name them and also its roots or cooking origins/who invented it...

2* Anyone here knows the history behind Khmer Cooking technique and also style....? am carious

3* What style of taste or Khmer food do you like, for example........ do you like the city ingredients or ways, or do you like the country side ingredients better.........

NOTE: Ingredients and the procedure or items used to make each meals, desert or drinks differ according to the location of which you born in..... which part of Khmer's are you or your ancestor came from determines the flavours of each unique dish....

Country side.... my parents originated from BATTAMBANG.... they also slave there during the KR erra cause they were forced to...

They fled to Thai refugees camp in 1979..... or 1978... in search for safety....

I was born in Thai Sras Gav....(can't spell it out) Refugees camp.... was not easy for them... the section they were in lacked basic shelter nor food....

Anyhow we got sponsored to CANADA in 1989... or so...... lived here since........ soooo cold and very very.. short spring and summer

so your family was never burned to death?

where did you get that ideas. ........... I have many realative in khmer still.......... most have die due to unforseen matter... and most have survived the tragic...

I rather not remind myself of the story.....

however am thankful for the few that survived.... thank goodness..... atless am not an orphan and at less i have some relative to keep me company.......... i rather die then live a live as a lonly orphan ....




One question............ in the camp at night........... how come strange bad shoulder always come in the camp and rob us...... and also harm or kill some of the camp members....?

i can roll sayaa ... cook rice porage, make chaipuv .. make nom chek chien, and .... that's about it.

I'm a good cook,I cook khmer,japanese,american, and a little bit if Chinese.I also make a badAzs drinks... I used to a bartender... yes...bartender....BUT I don't drink thou...

oh speaking of DRINKS i can make Tik kawlow .. or ... you know smoothies ..

avocado/durian my favorites!

use 1 cup of ice, 4 tablespoons of sugar, 5 table spoons of condensed milk, banana (optional) AND one of the two said fruits..

WOW.... am so impress.... imagine the food during new year eve an eyes delicious experience....
talking of food am soo hungry..... I usually brows internet site to learn how to cook exotic food I must admit am not that great
