are there any guidelines in place that these patrol offficers must abide by? or are they allowed to randomly edit whatever they like. and why are they more out of control in the cambodian chat than anywhere else? ppl say whatever they want in the other nation chats but in here they have forum nazi that edit anything under the guise of "it was meant as a flame"...am i the only person bothered by this? i understand the need for some supervision but they are out of control!

i thought the same thing until i got edited for saying thai dance came from the kidnapping of khmer apsara (100) from angkor. that is a khmer account of what happen. that is flaming? i understand it may look negative to a thai but the thread was regarding the similarities between khmer and thai dance plus it is in a khmer chat...not a thai chat.

i also got warned for talking about the origins of the word "siam" when asked what i (and others) heard about it.

it just seem a little out of control and overly sensative to me. i see a lot of anti-khmer things that never get edited...but if it is not pro-thai than it is flaming.

yeh, i think i saw you state your opionion about something thai and you got warned for it (that was so gay, an opinion is an opinion) but yeh i thought that was wrong for you to get a warning for it...

also, for you (if you're khmer) should really stay clear of the thai chat ... there are many cool ones, but there are just some that are really annoying 'get out of our chat you khamen!' lol ..

Mentioning that apsara being kidnapped tidbit wasn't the main cause for me to report your post. We all know they took our apsaras dancers, it's been said so many times before. Regardless if it's true or not (even though we know it's fact stated even by Western scholars on Khmer history), it's still going to create tensions in that thread. Bear in mind, that thread went on for so long without any flaming. The essence of that thread was to compare styles between the two cultures I believe.

What I really reported it for was something else, I know I just can't remember it exactly, but you posted something that I thought would cause a flame war. So all matters aside, go ahead and make a new thread and state your opinions on the matter concerning Khmer and Thai dance, just don't do it in that other thread if it's going to cause any negativity.

And personally, I don't even bother going to Thai chat anymore either. @@

i honestly don't remember saying anything with the intention of hurting thai feelings but i also have no intention of worrying about thai feelings in a khmer chat. they want to pretend they have a culture of their own talk about their pretend culture in thai chat. but thai "culture" is a sub-culture. in fact that may be what we were talking about. but it is a fact that they are a sub-culture simply because they are not old enough as a society. same as latinos...1,000 yrs ago there were no such thing as latinos. same as appalachian 'hillbillies'...500 years ago...no such thing...african americans...700 yrs ago no such thing...my point is all of them have distinct characteristics but that does not qualify them as cultures...african americans and appalachian 'hillbillies' are both very different from each other but they are american subcultures just as thai is a mon-khmer subculture.

you can get away with (if you're lucky) posting things like that, but in the thai chat, they will get all sensitive and cut your wee off ..

culture discussions and origins in thai chat is something sensitive to them and you'd best just leave them to their fun and ego ...

well we all know thai ppl have their own version of history...lol

Hey it's only fair. Goomba reported me for telling what the word khamen meant, and I never directly called anyone khamen...lol But it was offensive to him. So, yien don't make it seem like Thais are all sensitive and we get away with anything. We have a culture, and we don't need you to define it or explain what our culture is to us.
