All of the Desis that can speak their mother tongue in my area don't know anything about India. Well..they only know about their own state. Some of the ones that speak their mother tongue so well and yet don't know what the capital of India, where the Taj Mahal is located, or who Indira Gandhi is.
Speaking your mother tongue fluently and having knowledge about your country are two different things.
