I watched the first episode of this show yesterday and was really impressed, it was great. Good mix of humour, drama and romance, plus the characters that were forumers were funny and I could think of people here who'd I imagined to be like them too.

Anyway, anyone else seen this show? Can't wait to watch the next episode.

Ive downloaded a few episodes. Its alright. It got corny after awhile. I couldent imagine someone who was that gay.

I have to admit, the actor does a good job on the main character and the girl he likes is really good looking.

I hear its one of Japan's most popular shows ever or something.

Let me get this right, there were 11 episodes in the original series and there's also a movie right? I never heard about specials (though I guess they're common).

Any info on what there is in the Densha Otoko tv and film series would be much appreciated.

I heard there was a new one showing just last month in Japan, I'm not too sure. I've not seen the movie one, but the actors doesn't look as appealing as the ones in the TV series.

Well, the show is a little emotionally over-the-top...it's a little too sappy. I like it mainly because of all the goofy online characters and how they interact with the main character.

The show was really funny. But yes, it was a bit overthetop. I liked the online crew though lol, they were funny.

It's ok. It was currently airing on tv (japan) again during the afternoons as a re-run a few weeks ago. Densha-otoko character just gets on my nerves. But yeah, Hermes and her brother are good looking!!!
I can only watch a few mins. of the show and then I have to change the channel.

it was a good series even though densha kept pissing me off by screwing up. the seaturtle bit was hilarious. the special about the seaturtle guy was funny.

I see, seems I ought to look into these specials and stuff. Yeah, I looked at the odd pictures and clip of the movie, and it doesn't look as good.

I agree with those who say its a little over the top, but in all honesty, you have to kind of expect that with these kinds of drama shows.

The thing about Densha that I find disturbing is he's always sighing and breathing deeply, as though he's constantly in some orgasmic state.

I think the relationship is very unbelievable, any girl would find like Densha rather annoying. Not that he's an otaku but he cries like a girl in every episode.

But other than that it's a funny show. I especially love how they portray online chat in the show.

I really like the different online characters too. Like I said above, I can actually picture posters on here matching up with some of them.

You all know it's based on a manga, right? Uhm, I think it is. And that's why it has it's over-the-top moments. I still like to see the drama, must be entertaining.

The movie was not as good. The guy who played the otaku was too goodlooking to be credible.

Nope, he's a Japanese actor named Yamada Takayuki. He played Densha in the movie version of Densha Otoko.
