Does anyone know has MAS & Air Asia already made that decision whereby all domestic sectors are given to air asia with the exception of a few heavy traffic sectors?

I sure hope that Air Asia would bring back the JHB-KBR flight cuz honestly, my dad needs to take 2 flights via MAS to Spore....KBR-KUL n KUL-JHB....damn expensive boy

^Yeah, news been out a while already.

I'm waiting for the KUL-SIN sector to open up for AirAsia. I think mutual landing rights would also be given to the LCC from Singapore to fly to KL. Isn't it ridiculous that if one wants to fly to S'pore from KL, he'd have to go through Bangkok?

Can't wait for the ASEAN open-skies agreement in 2008.

According to reports, the KUL-SIN sector had been rated as one of the most expensive route in the world for 45 minutes flight

MAS is so expensive icon_sad.gif thumbsdown.gif

The MAS ticket I booked to Malaysia this December is $1500 eek.gif ...but it is during the peak season.

I wanted to take SingAir but it's a transit flight and have to pay more taxes, so the cost won't be that different, I may save like $100 but the journey would be longer.

what happen to your return ticket portion? I am sure you went to Australia on a 2 way journey right? Expired?

You can actually renew and pay a bit more you know.

Buying a ticket home is really expensive from Aussie but perhaps you could go to flightcentre.com for student rates.... I once tried to buy for my gf in melbourne. The prices compared to buying in SG is damn expensive

im so happy i dont have to fly anytime now

Ya...this time...MAS attendants dun give u any chance or special treatment.......they are really serious about imposing fines on overweight baggage...

my brother juz flew to BKK via SQ this morning with overweight bgg of 15kg...supposed kena $135....but he sweet talk and officer say...ok....jalan....must know how to talk la...like persuasive ma....that's why I say u need coaching from me

Another thing to add....I remember someone mentioning that MAS dun issue paper ticket these days but a while ago I book for a colleague of mine for SIN-KCH sector via the net but must collect paper ticket at MAS office or airport. When I call MAS, they say domestic flight they use e-ticket but international, they still use conventional paper ticket

Fyi, anybody wants to fly to Australia....better check out the prices from SIN cuz usually the price is really cheaper cuz many flights originating from SG...or try go www.zuji.com.sg but Zuji charge admin fee of $50 or so

The AirAsia girls are surely giving their kebaya-wearing counterparts a run for their money.

The inaugural flight to Australia's Gold Coast this November. For RM50 one-way before tax. Crazy!

UK flights only to start in 2008. thumbsdown.gif
You'd like one of these girls to serve you, don't you you naughty boy?

Had to fly nine time with Malaysia Airlines last summer and in all those flights nothing bad happened.
Good food, the video entertainment system for intercontinental flights is good too and most stewardesses looked great. :P
Those were all economic class and i felt that during the intercontinental flights, but thats part off it.

For extra space always ask for those seats behind the exits. In the small boeing, airbus and fokker planes the seats with extra space are around row 9 and row 16

WTF!?

A bus ticket from my suburb to the downtown Toronto area costs the equivalent of RM20. embarassedlaugh.gif

Did you take the Malaysia Airlines-KLM codeshare flight? I always bought the tickets from the KLM website but made sure to choose the MAS-operated flight. Unfortunately KLM's got smart - they no longer allow folks opting for the MAS flight without incurring an extra fee. It's still better to fly out from Amsterdam though, Schiphol's much better than Heathrow. icon_redface.gif

Yeah yeah, the Malaysian ringgit is peanuts compared to the Canadian dollar. tongue.gif embarassedlaugh.gif

The RM50 is just a special introductory fare though. The normal fare will be about AUS$99, about US$87 one way. That's without taxes and fees. And you'd have to pre-purchase your meals and amenities like blankets and in-flight entertainment player. deal.gif Interesting concept for a 13 hour flight!

That looks like an A330...I thought I saw it in LCCT as my dad pointed out that its larger than the normal A300

All are great with AA going long haul...has anyone experience long haul flights on a budget airline before? I flew jetstar to BKK from Sin and it was boring as hell as there was no flight entertainment to keep you occupied. The fact that I paid less than S$100 for a 2 way promotion flight was the only comforting fact.....you pay peanuts you get monkeys...dats wat lingers in mind

Now manchaster flight....13 hrs? and Melbourne...a good 8-9 hour I say....geez...on SQ to melbourne already I had so much problem....has anyone tried virgin flights from London to New York??

Daymn.

£99 from London-KL?!!

Ok, Essex-KL. icon_redface.gif

bro....I hate flying cuz you are stuck there with nothing to do on a budget airline....Sin to BKK 2 hour on Jetstar already tak boleh tahan.....the only consolation is the girls are not bad compared to AA girls

I rather take normal airlines bro....heading for seoul next month during Hari Raya on SQ beerchug.gif
malaccan
^That's Raya Haji is it? Have a good time in Seoul. beerchug.gif

13 hours flight UK-Msia would be challenging on a no-frills flight but I'm still keen to give it a go. It'll be quite a change from the A380 I think icon_wink.gif I hope it won't go the way of Oasis' HK-London flights, we'll see.
