Curry in Japan is usually Japanese curry but there is a huge popularity for Indian curry these days. Italian pasta and pizza is very popular. So is American style pizza but not as much.
Korean BBQ is very popular. Chige, Kimuchi, karubi-, purukogi, bibinba, etc as well.
Chinese food is a luxury in Japan. Chinese food is very expensive. Like fukahire (shark fin) and suzume no su (bird's nest). Ramen is basically a Japanese food but I guess you can call it Chinese. Gyoza and cha-han is pretty popular, existed in Japan forever.
Youshokuya (western food restaurant) is very popular. They usually have: steaks, hanba-gu, omlettes, omurice, etc.
Vietnamese food is popular too, along with many other Asian foods (Thai, Russia, etc).
McDonalds, KFC, First Kitchen, Red Lobster, Outbacks, Sizzlers are some of the American restaurants that are in Japan.

I've had family from Japan come visit me here in Toronto a few times. They absolutely LOVE poutine. Everytime I had an aunt or cousin come over to visit, they'd always want to go get poutine.
For those of you who don't know poutine is fries with mozzarella cheese and gravy. Mmmmm

Kimchi pizza.
Seriously. And yes, Chinese food is popular there too and it's so expensive because they try to make it perfect -- not like what they do in chinatowns over here in North America.

Curry and ramen are awesome cheap foods. I am still a student, so I can only afford to eat cheap stuff. Ramen and curry are top on my list along with gyudon.
