Is there any manga produced based on DC Comics characters?
Mavericker
Are DC Comics characters-Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc.-popular in Japan?
Gatts
cheap way to bump an the topic... but i dont know about manga that have dc characters... i think it would run into copyright issues unless youre talking about "graphic novels" dont know tho

dragonball z copies superman.

I saw a display in Wizard Magazine that featured a Dirty Pair/Superman x-over once.

Batman done manga-style would be interesting.

Are comics based on the animated Teen Titans considered manga?
Dpham313
there hasn't been one yet. you might consider teen titans to be a manga about dc characters but in comic format. dc does own a manga printing group called cmx mangas.
edit: i guess mavericker already made the teen titan reference. but teens titans was based on japanese manga styling.

That's rich, you quoted yourself? DBZ doesn't really copy superman at all, that's just one coincidence, there's just way too many differences between DBZ and superman to say that one is a copy/rip off of the other. Besides Goku is supposed to be based off of Sun Wukong not superman. Unless you can link a source that says Toriyama was influenced by Superman comics.

lol i speak the truth.
