is this for real
Kulong
That is hilarious.

I know Tibetans either celebrate or worship the male reproduction system. I saw a wooden penis in one of the Tibetan exhibits once.

I like this picture the best embarassedlaugh.gif

Hahaha I knew it was only a matter of time before someone made this thread.

1. That's fake, seen it before and is photoshoped a lot and some are posed
2. It was linked-twice from a humurous site.
Ogumo
Oh wait. I thought that was going to be a picture of something else by kulongs post.

umm i don't know, it doesn't look photoshopped. you can tell when something is photochopped. you don't need to be embarrassed, because i heard that the japanese be having competitions to make the biggest penis, i don't know :genius:
Ogumo
^ actually I wouldn't be surprised if it was real.

Kulong:

I was talking about this comment.

"I know Tibetans either celebrate or worship the male reproduction system."

It's obviously photoshop. And sometimes you really can't tell if something is photoshopped or not. If you can tell that it was photoshopped, then it's a pretty crappy job.

Check out www.somethingawful.com for some great photoshops.
lamyun
LOL it is NOT photoshopped.. i dont know y u guys are even supprised by these Japanese.. ogumo y dont u tell us a little bit about this JAPANESE celebration.. im sure u know a WHOLE bunch.. tell us as a japanese that this celebration is for real y dont u.
Kulong
I've been looking over these photos many times... I want to believe they are photoshoped... but it's simply too realistic and convincing. icon_confused.gif

Besides, those of you who claim these pictures were photoshoped, how would you know?
ComradeJing
As to whether or not those pictures themselves are real I don't know. However, there is an actual festival held somewhere in Japan that uses giant phalluses as emblems. I read a brief about it in a news article some months ago.

I am not commenting on the (supposed) festival, but on the notion of "photoshopping'. Photoshop in the right hands, can result in an image that is indestinguishable to the human eye as to whether it is real or fake. When using the term "photoshopping", it loosely means "image editing" not simply using the lone program itself, so the inclusion of other tools such as manual camera effects, 3d compositions, etc can take place. Advanced Photoshopping can fool the eye and there is no way to tell (because it fools the eye) other than the artist revealing that it was a mock-up.

This is an intermediate/advanced example:

At first it would look like some computer rendered image of clothing: but it is actually a real photo of Halle Berry (Storm in X-Men if you didn't know) but she was completely photoshopped out. To professional critiques in design competitions and graphic art institutes this is fairly normal calibre and more advanced artisits can mimic much higher standards
