AMAGASAKI, Hyogo -- A man armed with a baseball bat and a knife stormed into a language school here Monday morning, injuring a Chinese student, police said.
The suspect, who lives in a fourth-floor room of the building that houses the school, has refused to talk about the motives for his crime, investigators said. His name was not immediately disclosed.
At around 10:40 a.m., a 41-year-old man armed with a metal baseball bat and a kitchen knife stormed into the Osaka Kyoiku Gakuin school in the Minami-Mukonoso district of Amagasaki, local police said.
A 22-year-old student, a Chinese national, injured his finger when he struggled with the intruder in a bid to overpower him. Alerted by a school worker, police officers rushed to the scene and arrested the man.
About 20 students were attending a class when the incident occurred.
