I recently became friends with a student from Osaka and I knew they spoke a different type of dialect from the normal Japanese we hear today but what's the difference? Is it kind of like how Saturi is with Koreans?
I'd google it but I'm going to bed.

The only thing I know about Osaka dialect is that omanko is omeko laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

There's a thin line between what's Kansai and what's Osaka-ben but both sounds really stupid.Osaka ben
Calling someone stupid: "ahoyanen"
Telling someone you like someone/thing: "suki-yanen"
Saying what's up/what: "nan-yanen" etc. You add -yanen and purposely sound gay and that's pretty much Osakaben for you.
Really = "homma?"
"sou yan~" "yaayan~" ^%$#^Sorry for any Osaka fans here, but I think it sucks.

This is a popular old school anime but the voice actress was asked to dub it in Osaka ben. I thought it was hilarious.
