I spent money to have TFC and GMA pinoy installed in my house both living room and bedroom. My husband does not understand tagalog but he wants to learn...watching tv could be junky but there are also things you can learn. As long as you know your priorities, watching tv is okey.
everfree1604
Doesn't that cost alot?

If the programs that people watch are educational e.g. History, Science, Discovery channel, etc...
Then all the better for Filipinos.

But if they spend all the time of day watching soap operas, "variety shows" and showbiz gossips, they are only killing their brain cells. sure.gif

Wow 5 of the 10 are Asian countries. Stereotypically I thought that Asians would be too busy to watch tv. My mom would always get upset with me when I watch too much tv and want me to clean something or something. ^.^

My TV is only being turned off when we are going to sleep.

I watched Educational Shows, it is not just like an entertainment but also things you learn...there are hundred of channels available if you have satelite TV. Normal people watch TV specially news, it makes us aware what is going on. Current events are must know to people.

They are not lazier than us, watching more TV doesn't really effect anything on lazyness if you know your priorities.

in our house, we don't turn off the tv. except if we go outside. when the tv station sign off, we tune in at studio 23 (me and my sister are the only one awake), it sign off at 3:00 a.m. . then i tune in at mtv. then me and my sister will sleep, then my parents will wake, they watch t.v., then the t'.v. is open 24 hours a day. that's why our tv is always sira.

What about the DVD home theatre systems. There is a DVD Home Theatre of some kind is almost every household. Pinoys love to watch DVD movies for hours and they even have DVD Movies which is not even showing in the big screen yet that are just Coming Soon.
