Did Japanese audiences like These movies? I thought the last one was the best.
In the last one, the young man travels to Japan with his sensei to fight in some Japanese tournament.
Was Pat Morita popular with Japanese audiences?

Karate kid was corny cuz he didn't know how to fight after 3 movies....the female version fought better. However, they're great movies.

I liked the third one in the series-when Danny went to Japan, met a girl, defended her honor, etc.

I thought the movie was entertaining...I didn't know Pat Morita until I came to America and saw him in Karate Kid.
