Wow! You're so young!

And yea, I do agree with you. Hmong people only know how to criticize....that's why no matter what you do with life, either becoming a celeb, being a doctor, teacher, counselor, whatever...you will be criticized for doing "something" wrong.

Though this is the first time I've heard of you..........i hope to see some of your talents soon~

Why would he want to hook up with Brenda SOng? He can hook up with whoever he wants. Just because they both act for a living, doesn't automatically make them both suitable for eachother.

Finally, something good is happening. I'm just glad that there are people like you in the Hmong community, working hard to make us a more well-known community. Good luck to you and your career.

Anyway, I think your cousin, Mee Moua, knew my uncle Dr. PZ Vang, the one who passed away last year. I don't know how to spell his name in Hmong. I'm so sorry!

A thousand blessing for you! Good luck!

PS.
Avoid the negative comments from people. Believe in yourself.

So, are you a funny guy? I know I posted that up somewhere, that you better be a funny guy. And I've met Mee Moua before, I'm not a big fan of hers, she's kind of stuck up. But that's just my opinion, maybe she's nicer once you REALLY get to know her. Okay, but maybe not...that's just me trying to give her the benefit of doubt.
venosat
You don't have to come here and defend yourself Doua. Haters will always be haters. Although I don't know you, I am proud of you and what you have accomplished. lol..you're only 19 yaers old...way to go kid!

I just want to say, she may come across stuck-up. But please don’t think that, because she is not at all stuck-up. And I am not saying that because she is my cousin. But you have to put yourself in her shoes, everyone wants to pull and tug her in every direction. Also she is a busy woman. So if it seems like she is not listening to your concerns. Trust me, she is listening. She is just thinking practically, she knows she can’t please everyone. If she could, she would. But she can’t, the same reason you can’t please everyone too, because she has guidelines as a political leader, not just for the Hmong people but for everyone in her district. And trust me it is not easy trying to be an Asian, especially a Hmong, leader. Just the fact that you are always under a magnifying glass; every little thing is being examine. And the only thing people do is, wait for you to screw up. Rather than seeing the good things.

So please don’t put false thoughts into your mind, because all it does is build a wall between you and the real truth, reality.

Hey thanks.

Oh I am not trying to defending myself. Because I really don’t care what people may need to say about me.
All I need to know is I am true to myself and to those that care about me. I am just anger for the fact that I am not Hmong enough and also my little sister would see such pathetic stuff about.

A note:
Not trying to sound stuck up. Because those who do know me know that I am not at all.
But I know that some people need to put down others or talk $hit about others, sorry for my language, to make themselves feel better.
And to be honest with those people, you are just insecure with yourself. That is why you need to self pick individuals, who you feel that you are better then.

But at the end of the day, those geeks, nerds, ugly Betties are the people that you will be working for. Because they are the people that are actually stretch as far as they could to make there dreams come true. And it will.

So I know that, those who do need to even think twice about "Who is Doua Moua?" Please don't waste your time with me.
Because I know, for a fact, that people who do care about don’t need to think twice about me. And trust me when something big does happen to me. Those people will be the people that are going for a ride with me.

So don’t think that I am defending myself or care about all of these negative views about me, because it is not bothering me at all.
Hey if it is, I should not be in this type of industry. Because all you get is criticism.

Doua,
Just keep doing what you love. Represent them Hmong Peeps out there. Who cares what other says, they don't have anything better to say. Keep your head up and looking forward to see ya in the bigscreen.

You got your Moua peeps behind ya. (I'm a Moua too).

When you're in LA, hit the Moua cousin up okies.

great inspiration word, doua.

i know what u mean. when ur trying to stand up for what u love and everyone else critise to put u down.

I have know idea who you are but break a leg!!!!
vanggirlie
i'm replying so late...but oh well..

y'all have to stop with the "hooking up with brenda song".

did brenda song really put thai/hmong as her ethnicity because a few years back when i went on to her site she only put thai...that's why people were having such a big debate whether she was half korean or hmong. is she really proud of her hmong heritage? just curious...

newho, i would like to see your performance and see your personality for myself before i make any judgement on you. so hopefully i'll get to see something of yours. also, whatever you do in whatever kind of job you have you better represent the hmong community and represent well too!!! sorry didn't mean to be that forciful.

Hmong people are stupid... Who cares who does what or why, it's their personal life...

Mr. Moua,

Welcome to the tabloids... Now you know...biggrin.gif
Dlib Ab
Hmong people are annoying; instead of helping each other we only tear each other apart.

doua,
don't pay attention to any of these kids. do what you do and be happy doing it.
yajthaugluv
Hmong people are acting like any other people. They want to know every little thing about celebrities and their lives... It's pathetic! Kids these days watch too much tv...
jinglebells
omg, it's true what you said. DOUA MOUA...i agreed but once you become well-known (celebrity) to the publicity.. there will be people out there who will like & dislike you..icon_smile.gif Like Brenda song, i have friends who like & dislike her.. as for me, i don't think much of her.. i watch her show, "suite life of zack & cody".. & i have to say.. i love her role.."she's stupid- funny." that's the best part i like about her.. her role.. overall, she's kewl. i don't know her..

anyways, as a celebrity..(doua moua)..this is what i understand.. for people to like you & support you.. you will have to take bad remarks what people say about you.. even if it's true or not.. why? because that's what peoplez do.. " GOSSIP" And, people who makes bad remarks about you, they tend to be your fan..(sometimes) so yeah.

By the way, thanks for confirming the rumor about you & Brenda.. I've gone in hella sites & i gotta say.. there's hecka rumors about you & Brenda.. "Stupid rumors" LOL.

- GOOD Luck!-

What can I say that everyone haven't already said? My son is turning 10 next month, my daughter just turned 8 years old. My son has been modeling since he was 6 years old, my daughter just started. My son's been in several big advertisements, no T.V. shows or anything yet, but we're working on it. Both my kids will be in an advertisement for a company called Shutterfly in the June 2007 issue of Oprah and Martha Stewart magazines. Check them out.

Anyways, I'm not here to advertise my kids, but just to say, I'm glad the Hmong people are slowing breaking into this industry. It's not an overnight thing. It takes a lot of work, time and guts to do what you do and I hope that someday soon, my kids will be in your shoes as well. Be proud that you have made it this far. You still have so far to go. It's been said that there will be people who will love you and than there will be those who will hate you, but just remember that those that hate you, only hate you because they can't be you or be like you.

Also, always remember where you came from when you hit the big time. Most times, in order for you to hit the big time is to have the fans to get you there...No one makes it big if they don't have the fans. Be happy for the fans you have and ignore the rest. Good luck, my friend....

Hey everyone,

This is Kang Vang here. I'm a filmmaker from MN who has worked with Doua in the past in an award winning short film. I can definitely say that Doua is one of the most professional and hard working actors I have ever had the chance to work with. I wish more Hmong actors were the same way. I know this kid will go far, not only because he has the passion for it, but also because he has the talent and skills. Can't wait to see where he goes next!

I'll try to find some time to post up the film we did together. It is called, "Into the Dark."
youavang22
People are stupid for criticizing others. They just can't do anything so they decided to take it on others. Well, Doua, you're a good actor. Really talented. Keep it up.
douamoua
Wow... This is still up!!!

This is like last year and people are still stressing out about it.

Come on everyone lets just all move on in our own life.

I am still in New York city.

Going shoot an indie film next two weeks in a small farm outside of Syracus, New York.

But yeah.

Thanks. Kang!!!! for the comments.

During the 2005 48 Hour Film Festival, it won:
-Best Cinematography
-Best Original Musical Score
-Best Technical Sound

This short film made it to the semifinals in the midwest regional competition.

MrVang
Sorry filks. Try this link: http://stage6.divx.com/user/kangvang/video...5/Into-the-Dark

You need a Divx player to see it.

Just to let you guys know, we shot this in 2005.
We only had 48 Hours to write, shoot, edit, and compose music for it. It started at 8pm on a Friday night, and had until 8pm on Sunday to turn it in.

The rules for the competition were:
1) The main character had to be a model whose name is "Dee Poe."
2) We had to use the line, "Do you have a breathmint?"
3) We need to have a "Congradulations" balloon as a prop.
4) We then picked a genre out of a hat, and we got "Horror."

The 48 Hours started as soon as we picked our genre.
It was quite a rush! I wish we had more time, but it was GREAT fun!

jinglebells
it says video not avaliable..

omg, did i do something wrong? or am i supposed to go click on somethin'...?

DANG!

It's gotta work this time!

It''s fantastic that Doua Moua is becoming well known to the public.....Looking at his profile he does not look anything like Hmong..more like korean and chinese....but good luck on your future....

My sister was going towards the entertainment industries but my parents were not for it...why because of money...parents don't understand because they are illiterate and money is an issue....I still feel bad for her, she made it to the tops but backed out!

being in the spotlight your always gonna have criticism
thats how it goes, its how you handle the criticism

Hey…......... Wow!!! People…… are….. talking about me, …… kind of weird…..... Some good, some just weird. But that is ok.

Well, my 13 year old sister, in MN, just found out about these blogs and myspaced me.
Also some other people told me about it, but didn’t really care and I just thought of it now. To be honest with you guys, you really don’t know me. And those who do know me……… knows me. For the real me. But hey, that is ok.

Let me just set things straight.
Brenda Song and I have never mate each other and we are not doing a movie together. She is still shooting her sitcom in LA. And I am shooting two-three Indie-Films and rehearsing a Broadway show in New York City at the moment.

Just a note, on the whole Hmong thing. I am kind of angered by it, for the fact that people don’t even know me or Brenda Song and would judge us for not being Hmong enough. So how Hmong do you guys want us to be?!?!?!?!? I still wear the Hmong clothing, that my mom sew or buy, to the Hmong New Year. Well I won’t be at the Hmong New Year this year b/c I am in New York, but that is not the point. I am Hmong! And I will always be Hmong! Because my grandparents are Hmong and one day they decided to have a good…..night, and had my parents. And same for my parents, that is why I am here.

Just a note for you guys: my dad is one of the MN Hmong Moua Clan Leaders, Mee Moua is my cousin, and trust me I have many, many, and many Hmong Activist cousins, uncle, aunts, and etc……. You could name them all, I am related to them some how.
And your grandparents and parents probably know my grandparents and my parents.

And just to defend Brenda Song, have you guys gone to her website? Because sure enough on her bio, it does say that she is Hmong/Thai???????? Or Thai/Hmong???????
Same difference.

And yes there are a lot of old pictures of me when I was 11-17 years old, on-line. Because when I was in MN, a couple of local newspapers did articles about my work. But things have change and this me now. You got to love it or not, I really don’t care. And yes I am funny. I had the pleasure to have dinner with Tou Ger Xiong last year in New York and he is a very inspirational guy and quite funny himself.

Just a note: with so much negativity, like some people on this blog, that is why not a lot of Hmong people are as successful. So please, stop being so close minded. And support each other, even Hmong movies that are made here. Don’t just sit there and complain.
If you think you could do better, lets’ see you do it! Or just be part of it and help make it better.

And just to let you guys know there are other Hmong Actors/Actress out there like: Wa Yang, in LA from MN, Sandy C’ Moua, in MN, and many other Hmong Actor friends.

So feel free to contact me if you have any more questions or concerns of me not being Hmong enough, for you guys.

And for those who need some pointers in this industry, I am here to help.
So are Wa, Sandy, and my other close friends. Just don’t be afraid to ask us. We are all here trying to help change the view that many people have on the Hmong people.

And yes I am just 19 years old.

So, I kind of put everything out there. If you have any more concerns or questions. Just let me know.

To learn more about me just visit my website or find me on myspace, yes I am on it too.

www.douamoua.com

you know, imo this kinda sounds like this:

hi i'm the real me, i'm a movie star. i don't care what you guys are saying about me, that's why i'm posting this here. you all might not know me but just in case you want to mess with me i got people in high places. my dad is the leader of the moua clan, senator mee moua is my auntie, i know all the hmong activists they will vouch for me. i'm related to all the "top" contender people somehow. your grandpa knows my grandpa.... so feel free to contact me if you have any more questions or concerns of me not being Hmong enough, for you guys.

you've gotten all good comments so i'm guessing i'm the only one that feels this way, but to me it's comming off like you're saying you're "better" than us just cuz you're in movies? especially with that "just a note for you guys" paragraph. so what if you're pops is one of the leaders of the moua clan? you're auntie is mee moua yippie! you know many hmong activists, you have close friends in the movie biz, so what does all that have to do with your post or about people saying you're not hmong enough? ohh and saying you're not posting this to defend yourself but then the title is "i'm the real doua moua" kinda just doesn't work that well together. not a hater, i don't know you, your pop's, or mee moua, just typing my opinion, but good luck and props to you.
