Hello guys,
i've heared that edible insects can be bought in Cambodia. In my country (holland) they can not unfortunately. Therefore i've searched on the web for companies that sell them. This search has been unsuccesfull however.
Therefore I am now looking for individual sellers of them. Maybe it's possible to send (for instance) a kilo of fried worms (or whatever is available) packed via some express service.
People who are interested or that want to help, please respond. Hopefully we can work something out that will benefit both sides.

do you have to crack the spider shell too? or can you just eat it whole?

I just came overland from Siem Reap to Thailand today. It is the rainy season now and just about every other village house had a small homemade grashopper/cricket catcher. I'll be going back in the next month sometime from Thailand and I'll take a photo. If you have crickets or grasshoppers you can set up your own little trap using plastic, some water, and a light to attract the bugs. You can set it up in no time it looks VERY easy. Of course it'll have to be in a rural area and you'll need to be in season for crickets.
I don't know if they will be allowed to ship overseas. You can find all sorts of things in the markets. Spiders, frogs, snakes, baby duck fetuses. Yesterday they were selling a pretty decent amount of grasshoppers for about $.12 cents or 500 riel.

I will not eat anything that is under the sub-phylum Uniramia but Crustacean such as Lobster and Crab is a big Yes!!! I guess the reasons why some people in here suggested that insect taste like crab is probably due to the fact that the two are under the same Phylum Arthropoda.

I see you have taken a few biology courses, right? Anyways, I have never tried any edible insects (unless you include spiders and bugs that accidentally crawl in my mouth), but I guess it's not as bad as eating other things that people eat.

Yeah! I am a Biochemistry major. It is common for people like me to apply what we learn in class in the real world. It is kind of funny but that is what I notice a lot of people do.

Cool, biological science major here.

Most of the time when I relate life to my studies, most people just get confused. They have no idea what I am talking about, especially when I try to explain common biological reactions, people that are not familiar with the subject are like "WTF".

I've tried spiders, not that bad but very greasy. Nothing like crab, more like dried chewy fish. Crickets are very crunchy and the saltier the better. I wouldn't recommend eating more than one cup in a sit in. Ktea Took, the cicada roach like insect is very good but you can only eat a small amount of meat. the meat that you get from taste like chicken. Bat soup taste exactly like every other soup except that bat meat has a stronger more distinct flavor than any other meat I've tried. Frogs are awesome, stronger odor than chicken but sweater less floury meat. Snakes are an acquire taste but tell you the truth its like a mix of chicken and fish. I'm sure everyone here tried baby duck fetus.
