If russia had the industrial might equaivalent to that of the US,do u think they would have easily become the most power nation in the world?

That would just be impossible. For a start, they dont have that much influence overseas but only a handful.

Stratigically the US had them surrounded in all corners of the world. The reds was never able to sustain its grip. And there would have been as equal efforts from the USA with regards breaking the russians down to good effect (economically). On the simple fact that they were commies, i think that sealed their fate cuz look at them now - a supposed democratic state?. America knew all too well there was more than many ways to skin a cat.

i dont think that ex-soviet-union must be a one of that crazy countries wich wants to be a "worldruler".

"just developt own country and help your friends" is much better international politic.

that is why i was thinking if russia was able to manage its economy and have a strong industrial might,it might have easily surpassed the states.

money, resourses, infrasturktures and closed defense lines, yes.

russian coutnry is bigger as american. most population is conzetrated inner west / european part of RF and inner south of siberia.

they have not so developmend infrastructure like in USA and (most importand thing) they must stay inner other coutries like kazakhsatan and other parts of Ex soviet union. (mostly ex soviet countries have only president quards and own "gwardia" with very small army. russian army is bounded into defense of those countries not only with weaponory but with own soldiers and taktical weapons.)

russian millitary cannt send a big army from one end into other end of RF like USA-army.(they needs more as 1 year to be "ready to fgth") they needs all time a presenses and big defense reserves in all parts of russian federation. (and other parts of former soviet union)
