Hows soccer coming along. Theres enough crickiters till the end of time in india. hell a nation of one billion still cant find a world cup winning eleven. But like cricket soccer is a game you can play eaisly and cheaply and doesnt take into account factors such as height and weight to become a world beater. I think fifa should donate a million soccer balls to india. I think soccer can develop in india as iran have shown how well they can do at international level. India can reach irans level within about fifteen years with the right coaching as india has more man power. But they have to start with the young genration today that is the five to ten year olds. one indian footballer from the east baichung bhutia has already played for an english club bury hopefully many more will follow.

Right now the only two popular sports in India are Field Hockey and Cricket (both sports which India has won in numerous times).
It will be great if they pick up soccer too.

Indian atheletes have a lot of raw talent, however not enough emphasis is being placed on sports in India. I believe most of the emphasis is being placed on academics instead (which is good, but sports as a side would be nice too)....

Being so passionate about football/soccer, India needs to improve in football...seriously with the population, its hard to understand why, there must be a ronaldinho somewhere lol...but as someone said, theres not enough emphasis on sport, important as i believe the next commonwealth games are coming to India...back to football/soccer in Brazil, young boys grow up playing football, on streets because unfortunately in some areas theres nothing else they can do...similar to India's cricket nation.
