Whats with asians hating Hockey?

i remember back when the Edmonton was in the playoffs, some asians i knew were hoping the Oilers would lose fast so everybody would stop talking about hockey.

whats up with that?

cuz we suck at it? LOL

you know what else i hate, the weather. the fuk was with that ice rain yesterday. i had to walk home after the bus you know. no one told me it was gona be like that.

Unfortunately you tend to hate what you suck at, but not every asian hates Hockey whether they suck at it or not. Maybe it's just the Oilers!

i hate hockey so much. i like it when canadian teams make the playoffs b/c it brings canada together... i don't really cheer though b/c jumping bandwagons is lame... but i don't mind it.

i did hope the strike was going to go on forever though. lol.

if you want a buildup to a goal just watch soccer at least it takes more than 7 seconds to get from one side of the field to the other

WTF. i just find it boring. i've never played hockey in a league so i don't know how cool all the plays are. they all seem the same to me. i just prefer basketball and baseball lol. football too but not as much.

I think everyone hates Hockey.

The only reason I don't like it is because my roommate's Russian boyfriend plays hockey, so she's always dissing every other sport in favor of it. Like when the World Cup was on and we were talking about it, she would make fun of soccer and at the same time build up hockey. WTF.

Better question is why do people like baseball so much? It's one of the most predictable games ever. At least same $hit doesn't happen in hockey over and over. Only players I have respect for in baseball are the pitchers and catchers, and maybe the ability to hit the ball coming at you that fast.

I played anything and almost anything in school. I'm competitive although not very talented other than being goaltender in hockey.

I never liked hockey till my bro took me to a game, he won free tickets. zomg it was fun. niggas were beating the $hit out of each other.

The answer is simple. Hockey is not on TV in Japan. They dont have little to no experience with it. They know its a big deal in Canada, but Japanese TV rarely shows foreign sports games.

The Japanese love their baseball teams and Sumo wrestling. Hockey is way off their radar screens. Japaneae are fanatics about baseball. They are night and day over the N. american standard. The fans are as much of the show as the game itself. Its quite the experience to see one in person or on Japanese TV. I prefer the Japanese game over one in N. America. A lot more fun to watch and participate in.

can't say I hate it, just never caught my interest.

I like hockey, but it depends on who is playing. I don't have a favorite team, I'm just a hockey fan in general. If you've ever played hockey, you'd know how difficult it really is. One is on the ice giving it your all for a minute, then you get off the ice because one is so tired. The only other sport that's really tough is basketball. If you like running constantly for 33 minutes straight or more, this game is for you. I can't imagine running around that much. You don't see any fat basketball players or fat hockey players.

As a side-note: Does anyone remember Hockey Night in Canada when the Edmonton Oilers had Gretzky and they usually panned to an older Asian couple in the stands? I think the older Asian couple had the right seats. Think of all that national publicity. I remember that Gretzky had a close Chinese confidente, I think his name was Bing Thom if I'm not mistaken. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There are Asians that play in the NHL. Jim Paek won Stanley Cup championships with Pittsburgh. Paul Kariya plays with St. Louis now, I think. Richard Park plays for the New York Islanders. David Tanabe, I think plays for Carolina.

It's a good sport. Try it with a bunch of buddies who aren't that serious, you'll get a kick out of it. Don't be surprised if you start getting competitive and feisty.

Wow lol...alot of my cousins are hockey fans.... D= its crazy (they scare me) haha...yah hockeys ok though... I dont hate it.

Hockey owns, its the best sport to watch imo. Even better than Baseball which is something i've dedicated my life to.
