Did anyone watch that Indian Independence Day Parade in NYC?

I saw the video of that on Zee Tv and I noticed that a lot of white people were interviewed and it seemed a lot of them really had no clue about India, they just came to get the free food.

Thier responses were along the lines of, "Yeah, India is great, thanks for sharing your cultural heritage with us.....*eats samosa dipped in pepsi*"

Ya mean they had know idea that India existied or its whereabouts I guess it not really suprising though some Americans admitted they had know idea that there was a country called Pakistan let alone Afghanistan before Sept 11. Indians however I think are quite populous in NYC apparently I hear its like 1 in every 4 people are of Indian descent. Down here however Indian food and culture is quite popular I see every now and then white dudes wearing shirts with the Om symbol on them or some written Sanskrit on them.

I use to live in Northern California city called Yuba City and I believe it has one of the most condensed population of East Indians there. Everywhere you go in the little city. I still don't know much about them though becuase like a lot of Asians they tend to socialize within their own communities only.

So I guess their trying to make up for the truckloads of food my dad and I have gotten from white social gatherings?

I was freaked out when there were more white people at my local Indian restaurant than Indians. Yes, there are a lot of whites interested/fascinated with India.

Oh man I had some awesome samosas yesterday. They were Cheese (paneer and others with Cheddar!!!) samosas. What's shocking is the cheddar ones were fantastic, really flavourful, not too heavy and with some peppers, onions and green chilli (really added a great kick!). Man I'm so in the mood for more
