Mindanao's 102,000 square kilometers of land, comprising one-third of the Philippines' total land area, is blessed with abundant year-round rainfall and is sheltered in the country's only typhoon-free zone. These factors allow year-round production of a wide variety of crops.

Got above from: http://www.brunet.bn/org/bimpeabc/PHlands.htm

^ I Agree 100%.

the safest areas in the Philippines where typhoons rarely hit are the ff:

1. Jolo
2.Basilan
3. Tawi-Tawi
4. the rest of Mindanao

Hey Ive'd been to Jolo, Very Nice Beaches, Nice Athmosphere, Blue Skies, Blue Water, Sea is Calm.

Southern Mindanao is typhoon-free, especially the SOCSARGEN area...

sige, try living in those areas.. mukhang nakakabaliw. it seems like those places cannot be reach by electric lines or phone lines. i bet, they have weak reception for phone signals. magpapabagyo na lang ako rather than to stay in those areas. irony of things nga nmn

Yes, those are considered remote parts of Philippines. No many people would want to live there. We can stay anywhere we like but have to be alert of any imminent thypoon and shift out to safer places. It's definitely better living in those so-called safe but remote areas
